Located in the Rincón de la Vieja National Park, this is an 8 km (5 mile) journey through one of Costa Rica’s most biologically rich and geologically active regions, with nearby natural hot springs and steam vents adding a truly wild element to your journey. This protected area is a haven for Costa Rica’s most iconic wildlife. The trail winds through dense primary forest — a habitat for elusive species like jaguars, white-lipped peccaries, and a wide array of birds, reptiles, and mammals.
